CITY OF YORK COUNCIL THE YORK TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT (AMENDMENT) (NO. 14/81 ORDER 2021 NOTICE OF MAKING

Notice is hereby given that on the 18th day of March 2019 City of York Council ("the Council'') in exercise of powers under Sections 1, 2, 3, 4 and Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 ("the Act") and of all other enabling powers and after consultation with the Chief Officer of police in accordance with Schedule 9 of the Act, made the above (Amendment) Order giving permanent effect to the provisions of The York (Bike Hanger) (Experimental) Traffic Order 2019, thereby revoking the said Experimental Order. The provisions of the Experimental Order which came into effect on the 26th day of September 2019 and which is being continued on a permanent basis:

(a) Introducing a restriction on vehicles, with the exception of Pedal Cycles, travelling in the parking area on the south side of Heslington Road between the respective eastern property boundaries of No.'s 29 and 31 Heslington Road;



(b) Introducing secure cycle parking on the south side of Heslington Road between the respective eastern property boundaries of No.'s 29 and 31 Heslington Road. The cycle parking will be available to hire for unrestricted parking over a 6 month duration and will be subject to a charge of £43.20 with an additional £25.00 deposit also required;



The Order comes into effect on the 22nd day of March 2021. A copy of the (Amendment) Order, statement of reasons for making the provisions contained within it and map showing the lengths of road affected may be inspected at the City of York Council Reception West Offices, Station Rise, York, Y01 6GA during normal business hours. Any person who wishes to question the validity of the Order or of any of its provisions on the grounds that it is not within the powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended or that a requirement of any regulations thereunder has not been complied with may, within 6 weeks from the commencement date of the Order, make application for that purpose to the High Court.

TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS Notice is hereby given that City of York Council (the Council), in exercise of powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (the Act), made an Order on the 25th day of March 2021 in respect of the location numbered (1). Additionally, the Council, not less than 7 days from the publication of this Notice, intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Act in respect of the location numbered (2), (3), (4) and (5).

(11 SHIPTON ROAD-WATER END. YORK This Order prohibits pedestrians and vehicles from proceeding along that length of foot path connecting Shipton Road-Water End, York known as Public Footpath No. 55/319/10 (closed footpath) during the period when nearby building works are being undertaken thereon that period commencing at 0001 hrs on the 29th day of March 2021 and ending at 2400hrs on the 28th day of September 2021 or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be available during the works period.

(21 HESSAY LEVEL CROSSING. YORK

This Order vehicles from proceeding through the Hessay Level Crossing on New Road, Hessay (closed road) during the period commencing at 2200hrs on 6th day of April 2021 and ending at 0630hrs on the 10th day of April 2021 or at time when track maintenance works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. It Is envisaged that the restrictions will only be put into effect overnight between 2200hrs and 0600hrs each day during the works period. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be available via New Road, Main Street, Atterwith Lane, Marston Lane, A59, New Road and vice versa.

(31 GRANGE STREET. YORK This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Grange Street, York between its junctions with Fulford Road and Grange Garth (closed road) during the period commencing at 0900hrs on the 5th day of April 2021 and ending at 2400hrs on the 9th day of April 2021 (works period) or on a date when carriageway resurfacing works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted vehicles will be available during the works period.

(41 HAXBY STATION LEVEL CROSSING. HAXBY This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding through the Haxby Station Level Crossing on Station Road, Haxby (closed road) during the period commencing at 2330hrs on the 13th day of April 2021 and ending at 0600hrs on the 14th day of April 2021 (works period) or at time when track maintenance works have been completed whichever is the earlier. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be available via Station Road, Towthorpe Road, Strensall Road, A1237, York Road, Station Road and vice versa.

(51 PENLEY-S GROVE STREET-LOCKWOOD STREET. YORK This Order will prohibit pedestrians and vehicles from proceeding in those lengths of foot path connecting Penley's Grove Street-Lockwood Street, York (closed footpath) during the period commencing at 0800hrs on the 12th day of April 2021 and ending at 1700hrs on the 16th day of April 2021 (works period) or on a date when electricity works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted pedestrians and vehicles will be available during the works period.

The above temporary Orders will not prohibit works or emergency access nor will they prohibit access to premises provided that access is not prevented by on-going works or safety concerns. Traffic signs/barriers will indicate the extent of the prohibitions/restrictions.
