THE A1(M) MOTORWAY AND THE A168 TRUNK ROAD (DISHFORTH INTERCHANGE) (TEMPORARY RESTRICTION AND PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC)
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Highways England Company Limited has made an Order on the A64 Trunk Road, in the City of York, to enable traffic signs renewal, reinstatement of illuminated bollard, resurfacing, verge reinstatement, drainage, verge marker bollard installation and kerb maintenance works to be carried out in safety.
that Highways England Company Limited has made an Order on the A64 Trunk Road, in the City of York, to enable traffic signs renewal, reinstatement of illuminated bollard, resurfacing, verge reinstatement, drainage, verge marker bollard installation and kerb maintenance works to be carried out in safety.
The works are expected to start on Monday 14 September 2020 for 4 weeks, or until completed, and will take place between 8pm and 6am.
The effect of the Order will be, at times during the works, to:
(i) Impose a temporary 50mph speed restriction on the A1(M) southbound carriageway from 275 metres north of the overbridge at Shambles Lane to 100 metres south of the southbound exit slip road at Junction 49 (Dishforth Interchange), a distance of 1700 metres;
(ii) close the A168 carriageway from the A1(M) northbound entry slip road at Junction 49 to its junction with the A168 northern dumbbell roundabout at Dishforth Interchange, a distance of 657 metres; and
(iii) close the A1 (M) southbound exit and northbound entry slip roads at Junction 49.

During the closures suitably signed alternative routes will be available at all times. Traffic signs will indicate the extent of the restrictions (which will not apply to emergency service vehicles or special forces vehicles) and prohibitions (which will not apply to emergency service vehicles or vehicles being used in connection with the said works or for winter maintenance or traffic officer purposes). The Order comes into force on 13th September 2020 and has a maximum duration of eighteen months. Access will be maintained at all times to premises and property which are accessible from, and only from, the A168.
