CITY OF YORK COUNCIL TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS

Notice is hereby given that City of York Council (the Council), in exercise of powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (the Act), made an Order on the 16th day of July 2020 in respect of the location numbered (1). Additionally, the Council, not less than 7 days from the publication of this Notice, intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Act in respect of the location numbered (2).

Ml COPPERGATE. YORK This Order prohibits vehicles (with the exception of pedal cycles) from proceeding in the east bound traffic lane of Coppergate, York (closed traffic lane) during the period when social distancing measure have been put into effect that period commencing at 0001 hrs on the 17th day of July 2020 and ending at 2400hrs on the 15th day of December 2020 (danger period) or at a time when the social distance measure are revoked whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the shops within the area of the closed traffic lane can continue to operate and aid pedestrian social distancing measure to be put into effect. An alternative route for diverted vehicles will be signed during the works period.

(21 CLIFTON INGS FOOTPATHS/CYCLE PATH. CLIFTON WITHOUT

This Order prohibits p pedestrians and vehicles from proceeding in (i) Clifton Without 26/4/10 (ii) Clifton Without 27/1/10 (iii) Clifton Without and (iv) Way of the Roses cycle route between Clifton without 27/1/10 and Clifton Without 26/40/10 (closed footpath), during the period when Clifton Ings flood defence works are being undertaken thereon, that period commencing at 0001 hrs on the 31st day of July 2020 and ending at 2400hrs on the 31st day of January 2021 (works period) or when the works have been completed, whichever is earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted pedestrians and vehicles will be signed during the works period.

The above temporary Orders will not prohibit works or emergency access nor will they prohibit access to premises provided that access is not prevented by on-going works or safety concerns. Traffic signs/barriers will indicate the extent of the prohibitions/restrictions.
