CITY OF YORK COUNCIL NOTICE OF PROPOSALS THE YORK TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT (AMENDMENT) (No 14/91 ORDER 2020
Notice is hereby given that City of York Council, in exercise of powers under Sections 1,2, 4 and Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984 ("the Act") and of all other enabling powers and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Schedule 9 of the Act, proposes to make an Order which will have the effect in York of:
(a) Amending the access restrictions on Church Street from a point 7m south west of its junction with St Sampson's Square south west for the remainder of its length; Coney Street, Davygate; Feasegate, Finkle Street; High Ousegate; Jubbergate; Market Street; New Street; Parliament Street; Peter Lane; St Sampson Square from a point 7 metres north west of its junction with Church Street north west for the remainder of its length and Spurriergate; to restrict vehicle access into the said roads/lengths of roads during the pedestrian period (10.30am - 5pm 7 days a week) to vehicles being used for Ambulance, Fire Brigade or Police purposes, proceeding upon the direction/permission of a Police Constable, a Civil Enforcement Officer, The Council's Head of Transport or vehicle issued with a City Centre Permit by the City of York Council s Traffic Manager.
(b) Amending the exemptions to accurately reflect current job titles held by officers employed by the Council.
A copy of the draft Order, Statement of Reasons for making it and relevant maps can be inspected at the Reception, West Offices, Station Rise, York, during normal business hours. Objections or other representations specifying reasons for the objection or representation should be sent to me in writing to arrive no later than 3rd April 2020.
TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS Notice is hereby given that City of York Council (the Council), in exercise of powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (the Act), made an Order on the 12th day of March 2020 in respect of the location numbered (1). Additionally, the Council, not less than 7 days from the publication of this Notice, intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Act in respect of each of the locations numbered (2) and (3).
Ml ALMA TERRACE. YORK This Order introduces a Disabled Person's (Blue Badge) Parking Place in Alma Terrace, York on its south side, between the projected western property boundary line of No. 87 Alma Terrace and a point 6.6 metres west of the said line (restricted road) during the period commencing at 0001 hrs on the 16th day of March 2020 and ending at 2400hrs on the 15th day of September 2021 (restriction period).
(21 LANDING LANE. HAXBY This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Landing Lane, Haxby (closed road) during the period commencing at 0001 hrs and ending at 2400hrs on the 25th day of March 2020 (works period) or at time when water works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. No alternative route for diverted traffic will be available during the works period.
(31 COPMANTHORPE NO 2 FOOT CROSSING. COPMANTHORPE This Order will prohibit pedestrians and vehicles from proceeding over Copmanthorpe No.2 (Railway) Foot Crossing, Copmanthorpe (closed Footpath) during the period when track maintenance works are being undertaken thereon that period commencing at 2100hrs on the 24th day of March 2020 and ending at 0600hrs on the 13th day of May 2020 or on a date when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. No alternative route for diverted traffic will be available during the works period. The above temporary Orders will not prohibit works or emergency access nor will they prohibit access to premises provided that access is not prevented by on-going works or safety concerns. Traffic signs/barriers will indicate the extent of the prohibitions/restrictions.
