CITY OF YORK COUNCIL TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS

Notice is hereby given that City of York Council (the Council), in exercise of powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (the Act), made an Order on the 27th day of June 2019 in respect of the locations numbered (1), (2) and (3). Additionally, the Council, not less than 7 days from the publication of this Notice, intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Act in respect of the location numbered (4).

(1) FAIRFIELDS DRIVE. SKELTON This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Fairfields Drive, Skelton between its junctions with Shipton Road (A19) and Burtree Avenue (closed road) during the period commencing at 0001 hrs on the 1 st day of July 2019 and ending at 2400hrs on the 12th day of July 2019 or on a date when carriageway resurfacing works being undertaken on the A19 have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period.

<21 WIGGINTON ROAD/HAXBY ROAD/CLARENCE STREET. YORK This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in those lengths of (i) Wigginton Road, York between its junctions with Haxby Road and Crichton Avenue; (ii) Haxby Road, York between its junctions with Wigginton Road and Markham Street; (Mi) Clarence Street, York between its junctions with Lord Mayor's Walk and Wigginton Road/Haxby Road; (iv) Lowther Street, York between its junction with Haxby Road and a point 10 metres south east of the said junction and (v) Townend Street, York between its junction with Clarence Street and a point 10 metres south east of the said junction (closed road) during the period when carriageway resurfacing works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. That period commencing at 2200hrs on the 30th day of June 2019 and ending at 0500hrs on the 15th day of July 2019 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. Additionally, the 'ONE WAY' direction of traffic flows in Lowther Street and Townend Street are suspended during the works period to allow two-way traffic flow in the said roads when the overnight closures are put into effect. It is envisaged that the prohibition on vehicles proceeding and waiting in the closed roads will only be put into effect between 2200hrs and 0500hrs, Sunday to Thursday during the works period and the works will be undertaken in three phases. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period.

(31 THREE CRANES LANE. YORK This Order prohibits pedestrians and vehicles from proceeding in Three Cranes Lane, York (closed footpath) during the period when sewer works being undertaken thereon have been completed, commencing at 0800hrs on the 1st day of July 2019 and ending at 1700hrs on the 5th day of July 2019 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted pedestrians and vehicles will be available during the works period

(41 YORK FOOTPATH NO. 55/139/10 & NO. 55/140/10. YORK This Order will prohibit pedestrians and vehicles from proceeding in the public footpaths known as York No. 55/139/10 and York No. 55/140/10 (closed footpaths) during the period commencing at 0001 hrs on the Sth day of July 2019 and ending at 2400hrs on the 31st day of October 2019 (works period) or at a time and date when flood alleviation works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. No alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period. The above temporary Orders will not prohibit works or emergency access nor will they prohibit access to premises provided that access is not prevented by on-going works or safety concerns. Traffic signs/barriers will indicate the extent of the prohibitions/restrictions.
