CITY OF YORK COUNCIL TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS

Notice is hereby given that City of York Council (the Council), in exercise of powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (the Act), made an Order on the 23rd day of May 2019 in respect of each of the locations numbered (1), (2) and (3). Additionally, the Council, not less than 7 days from the publication of this Notice, intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Act in respect of the locations numbered (4) and (5).

HI WELLINGTON ROW & NORTH STREET. YORK This Order prohibits pedestrians and vehicles from proceeding in the footpath on the north eastern side of Wellington Row, York and North Street, York (closed footpath) during the period when nearby flood alleviation works being undertaken adjacent to the closed footpath, commencing at 0001 hrs on the 28th day of May 2019 and ending at 2400hrs on the 11th day of October 2019 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. During the works period vehicle movements on Wellington Row and North Street will be controlled by temporary traffic lights. An alternative route for diverted pedestrians and vehicles will be available during the works period.

(21 ASCOT WAY. YORK This Order prohibits pedestrians and vehicles from proceeding in the footpath on the northern side of Ascot Way, York between the projected eastern property boundary line of No. 72 Ascot Way and the projected northern property boundary line of No. 20 Ascot Way (closed footpath) during the period when nearby property development works being undertaken adjacent to the closed footpath, commencing at 0800hrs on the 27th day of May 2019 and ending at 1700hrs on the 30th day of June 2020 (works period) or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted pedestrians and vehicles will be available during the works period.

(3) BOOTHAM LEVEL CROSSING. YORK This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding through the Bootham Level Crossing on Wigginton Road, York (closed road) during the period when track maintenance works are being undertaken nearby that period commencing at 2300hrs on the 25th day of May 2019 and ending at 0830hrs on the 26th day of May 2019 or at a time when the works have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be available via Wigginton Road, Haxby Road, A1237, Wigginton Road and vice versa.

(41 STRENSALL FOOTPATH NO. 4 & NO. 5. STRENSALL This Order will prohibit pedestrians and vehicles from proceeding in the public footpaths known as Strensall No. 4 and Strensall No. 5 (closed footpaths) during the period commencing at 0001 hrs on the 3rd day of June 2019 and ending at 2400hrs on the 31st day of July 2019 (works period) or at a time and date when footbridge replacement works being undertaken have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. No alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period.

(51 YORK ROAD LEVEL CROSSING. HAXBY This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding through the York Road Level Crossing on Haxby Road, Haxby (closed road) during the period commencing at 2300hrs on 7th day of June 2019 and ending at 0600hrs on the 8th day of June 2019 or at time when track maintenance works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be available via York Road, A1237, B1363, Mill Lane, The Village, York Road and vice versa.

The above temporary Orders will not prohibit works or emergency access nor will they prohibit access to premises provided that access is not prevented by on-going works or safety concerns. Traffic signs/barriers will indicate the extent of the prohibitions/restrictions.
