DAVID KNOWLES WISEMAN

WISEMAN David Knowles Retired Teacher and Cabinet Maker. On July 11th, peacefully, surrounded by his family, aged 89 years. Loving husband of Marion, much loved dad of Andrew, Sally and Jill, father-in-law to Jill and Duncan and devoted grandad of Lauren, Francesca, Rachel, Kate, James, Dante`, Poppy and Ellie. A Service of Remembrance will take place on Thursday, July 25th, at All Saints Church, Brandsby, at 2:00pm. Family flowers only please, donations received in memory of David will be for York Against Cancer. Enquiries please to Chapman Medd Funeral Directors, Easingwold. Tel: 01347 821370.

Now where was I? August 7th, 2019
Very sad to hear this. He was my woodwork teacher at Beckfield (1962-1967). Apart from the patience he showed when we messed up our woodworking projects, usually by managing to split the wood in some previously undiscovered way, my abiding memory of Mr Wiseman is of him making his cup of tea with water directly out of the Ascot heater. I always thought that was a brilliant idea. Not sure how it tasted though. RIP sir. Philip Hodgson

So sad, a lovely teacher, even taught us girls woodwork. Really enjoyed those classes. Safe journey Mr Wiseman. X

Fond memories of a great teacher and friend throughout my school years . More of a friend than a teacher. During our 4th and 5th form (1969/70) Dave ran a small badminton club every lunchtime. He was a very good player and I still have happy memories of those lunchtime matches along with Dave Pearson and Dave Buckley. Kind regards to all the family. I will always smile when I remember Dave.
