CHILDE Jack On October 14th aged 94 years in Mulberry Court Care Home, former Chief Sub-Editor of The York Evening Press. Husband of the late Mary. He will be sadly missed by all his family and friends. Funeral service to be held at York Crematorium on Tuesday, October 30th at 10.20am. Family flowers only please. I am so sorry to read of the death of Jack Childe. I worked with Jack at The Yorkshire Evening Press, now The Press, for many years and he was a wonderful man to know. I visited him at Mulberry Court numerous times until personal illness forced me to stop. Jack was a highly respected man and journalist with a fine sense of humour as well as responsibility. He will be thought of kindly by all his former colleagues and friends.
