York Theatre Royal will present Patient No. 1, a stark comic satire set in a not-too-distant future by American political writer Donald Freed, the theatre's playwright in residence, from May 1 to 17.
Patient No. 1 takes its name form the confidential in-house name assigned to the by-now former President of the United States, George W Bush, by the psychiatric staff of an elite, isolated private clinic where he is an in-patient.
Freed's play is an exposé not only of American politics but of own personal part in world affairs, wrapped inside a character analysis of Bush, played by Theatre Royal regular Robert Pickavance.
Tickets for this Studio production can be booked on 01904 623568.
