SUNDAY night’s performance of The Grumpy Old Women Live 2: Chin Up Britain at the Grand Opera House, York, has sold out.

Jenny “The Spleen Burster” Eclair, Wendi “Mad Dog” Peters and Susie “The Huffer” Blake will be Grumpier than ever in 90 minutes of advanced Grumping from 8pm, while also giving handy tips on how to survive these hard times the Grumpy way.

“Some days, the grumps just pile up, while other days are more or less grump-free… until the point when you stub your toe,” says Jenny, as she readies herself for her sixth return to York.

“A heck of a lot of women sympathise with Grumpy Old Women. They come up to me in supermarkets; I get a reaction. There’s an army of women out there ready for this.”

Here comes the Grumpy voice of the zeitgeist: “A lot of my generation find themselves middle-aged and furious at not being taken seriously,” says Jenny. “Grumpy Old Women is a banner title for people who have had enough.”
