Charlie Sheen has insisted he is "genuinely interested" in becoming a judge on American Idol.
The US star - who was fired from hit TV show Two And A Half Men following a public meltdown last year - was mentioned as a possible replacement for either Jennifer Lopez or Steven Tyler, who have both announced they are leaving the show.
But Charlie has said he is actually keen on the idea, reports Access Hollywood.
He told Idol host Ryan Seacrest on his radio show: "It seems so out of the blue that it almost made perfect sense. I thought this could be a lot of fun.
"Seriously... I'm genuinely interested. It's so different, it could be radical."
However, Charlie isn't the only celeb interested in taking up a seat on the panel as earlier this week Queen of Soul Aretha Franklin also threw her name into the hat.
And it has been reported that Mariah Carey is also in "serious talks" about joining the US singing show.
Last week Aerosmith rocker Steven and singer and actress J-Lo announced they were saying goodbye to Idol after two seasons, leaving Randy Jackson as the sole judge.
