Alison Merrick BSc Hons, PhD, Cert ECBS, Cert Vodder is a professionally qualified and experienced Bowen Technique and Manual Lymph Drainage (MLD) Practitioner. She graduated from the University of Bradford, the European College of Bowen Studies and the Austrian Vodder-Schule of Manual Lymph Drainage.
She collaborates with many different health professionals in the treatment of her patients, successfully addressing a wide variety of health conditions. Many patients return regularly to experience the wonderful benefits of these gentle and powerful therapies.
‘Back and neck pain are probably the most common reasons for seeking out Bowen therapy but many of my clients have found relief from a variety of conditions from asthma to arthritis and insomnia to ME. Additionally many training athletes and dancers have found regular Bowen treatment has reduced injury rates and healing times.’

It speeds up the healing process after surgery, reducing swelling and bruising. It also has direct analgesic (pain-relieving) and stress-relieving effects.’
Alison regularly attends advanced Bowen and MLD courses and keeps up-to-date with the latest medical information. A history in immunology and cancer research at St James’s hospital in Leeds gives her a special insight into supporting the immune system as a basis for good health. Alison also offers support and treatments for people undergoing and after cancer therapies.
