What to see and do
The Archaeological Resource Centre
The ARC is the perfect place to visit if you are looking for a really
unusual way to discover the history of the City of York and the
secrets of uncovering the past - literally!
Housed in the fifteenth century church of St. Saviour, this handson
archaeology centre gives visitors a fascinating insight into the
lives of some of York's past residents, and the opportunity to handle
the genuine 1,000 or even 2,000 year-old items they left
behind. You can also explore the interactive Sensory Garden.
The ARC is Jorvik's sister attraction, and is run by York
