STRIKER Richard Cresswell says the sooner the Leeds United teamsheet mole is unearthed, the better.

Leeds boss Dennis Wise says he has no regrets after accusing one of his players of leaking team news to Crystal Palace last weekend. He wants the culprit to own up and remove suspicion from those players who are innocent.

Former York City forward Cresswell, who is hoping for a place in the starting line-up at Cardiff tomorrow said: "I have not experienced anything like this in my career and it has not been nice. We don't know who is responsible but it is a serious matter and the quicker it is out in the open the better.

"It took the shine off our win against Palace and I am not going to lie - it has put a dampener on things. We have to get on with the football now. The important thing is that everyone is together at 3 o'clock on Saturday at Cardiff."

Cresswell, 29, made a successful and long-awaited comeback with a substitute appearance against Palace.

He said: "I feel sharp and enthusiastic. In fact I feel as if I am 16 again. I just want to play football. Although we have won three of our last five league games we are still bottom of the table so we can't take our foot off the pedal. Once we do that we will struggle again. We have to keep the tempo high like we did last Saturday."

Wise insists he still doesn't know the mole's identity and says: "There is a certain person who knows what he has done. Whether he meant to do it, only he knows. He is the only person to dig the others out of it. Whether he is bold or brave enough to come forward is up to him."

Wise has been criticised in some quarters for raising the issue, but he said: "I have no regrets over what I said - none at all. We have had a chat this week and the players know and understand where I stand on what is right and wrong.

"It gives a warning to certain individuals that there are things you have to stick by and stay loyal. It gives them a kick up the backside. They realise now that it was not a good thing to do, whether it was done in a bad way or the person was just being naïve.

"You give nothing away to the opposition, so you can give yourself the best chance of winning. It is as simple as that."

Wise said he had briefly spoken to the players' union, the PFA, but added: "They represent the players. They are not worried about the manager or the football club."

A scan has revealed that Gary Kelly has an inflamed ankle, ruling out the right-back.

Midfielder Alan Thompson is doubtful with the calf injury that kept him out against Palace but 'keeper Graham Stack could return after his latest reserves outing.
