Man of the match: Dee Foggin-Johnston – scoring a hat-trick away to Toronto cannot be overlooked, and it was good reward too for the sprightly winger who has been in good form in recent weeks.

Referee: John McMullen (Wigan) – may have been done on a couple of 50-50s but generally not bad.

Penalty count: 6-8

Half-time: 20-12

Weather: a storm a few hours earlier passed and the skies were blue.

Attendance: 5,646

Moment of the match: Going ahead at the Lamport Stadium was a good feeling, and it was a nice try too – Joe Batchelor darting onto Liam Harris’ chip and handing the ball back to Harris who sent Dee Foggin-Johnston home for his first of three tries.

Gaffe of the match: Joe Batchelor tried to clean up a kick but spilt the ball straight to Quenton Laulu-Togaga’e to hand the full-back a try. The game was long gone by then, though, and to moan about either this or the defending in the 20 minutes after half-time, which was powerless against the rampant Wolfpack, would be a bit harsh.

Gamebreaker: Three tries just before half-time gave York warning of what was to come and the seven in the third quarter not only killed the game but meant the Knights would suffer a heavy scoreline too.

Match rating: Home fans reckoned the first half was the most competitive they’d seen at the Lamport Stadium thus far. Toronto director of rugby Brian Noble was full of praise for York’s first-half show, too. It was a different story in the third quarter though as the full-time undefeated Wolfpack ran riot before the Knights to their credit dug deep and got late reward for their efforts in adversity.
