York City Knights off to a winning start at Doncaster

PLAYER-COACH Chris Thorman made a winning start to his reign as York City Knights beat hosts Doncaster 29-18 in the Northern Rail Cup.

Captain James Ford scored two tries for the Knights at the Keepmoat Stadium and there were also scores for Matt Garside, Jack Lee and Rhys Clarke.

Thorman kicked four goals and a drop goal.

The Knights now host Swinton Lions at Huntington Stadium in a rearranged game on Thursday at 8pm.
