Fundraising nights for York City Knights

KISS, the York City Knights independent supporters’ society, have planned a variety of fundraising nights over the coming months.

Among the leading attractions is a sportsman’s dinner to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the crisis meeting that saw the Knights rise out of the ashes of York Wasps.

There are a number of other dates for diaries, with cash raised on each occasion going to the Knights’ squad builder fund.

The sportsman’s dinner is on March 24, in Bar 13, at Huntington Stadium.

The guest speaker is the great Alex Murphy OBE, with the compere being the Dave Kendall, himself a big Knights follower. There will be a four-course meal and auction.

adies are welcome, with gents’ dress code being jacket and tie. Tickets cost £25.

Further events listed below – which are aimed at all Yorkies, not just Knights supporters – are to be held at Huntington Sports Club, with ticket prices set at £5 each time.

February 25: race night and karaoke, chicken and chips supper; April 21: Easter party fun night, quiz, races, bingo, karaoke and disco, chicken and chips supper; May 26: Sixties cabaret night, direct from USA Lionel, plus ’60s disco, chicken and chips supper; Jun 23: barbecue and disco; August 18: race night and karaoke, chicken and chips supper; October 6: Super League Grand Final and race night, chicken and chips supper.

December 8: Grand Christmas fun party night, four races, quiz, bingo, disco and buffet.
