A CASH windfall could be York City Knights’ reward for drawing Super League giants Hull KR in the fourth round of the Carnegie Challenge Cup.
The Knights will host the Robins at Huntington Stadium on the weekend of May 7 and 8, and coach Dave Woods is anticipating a big crowd.
“It’s good to be at home and they should bring a strong following, so there should be a decent crowd,” he said.
“We have also got ten or 11 players from Hull so they will be looking forward to the game.
“It’s going to be difficult, but it’s a good draw.”
With six weeks between the draw and the fourth round, Woods is keen for his players to remain focused on the Championship campaign.
He said: “We’ve got to concentrate on getting some points in the league. We have to do that first and then when the cup game gets closer we can enjoy it.”
Round four draw: St Helens v Sheffield Eagles, York City KNIGHTS v Hull KR, Featherstone v Lezignan, London Skolars v Widnes, Leigh v Catalan Dragons, Wigan v Barrow, Leeds v Crusaders, Batley v Huddersfield, Dewsbury v Swinton, Halifax v Bradford, Hunslet v Salford, Rochdale v Castleford, Gateshead v Harlequins, Warrington v Keighley, Hull v Oldham, Doncaster v Wakefield.
Ties to be played on the weekend of May 7 and 8.
