York City Knights Supporters’ Club are hosting a race night in Bar 13 at Huntington Stadium tomorrow – with all proceeds going to the Knights’ scholarship scheme.

Admission is free, with the first race at 7pm, and all Knights and racing fans are urged to attend.

Knights general manager Ian Wilson keen to acknowledge the efforts of the Supporters’ Club, said: “Only two weeks ago former Knights scholars Joe Dey and Eddie Smith made their first-team debuts against Castleford, and we have a number of extremely talented local players coming through the ranks who we hope will do the same over the coming years.

“This year, for the very first time, our under-16s will be taking on the cream of rugby league talent with fixtures against the likes of Bradford Bulls, Hull KR and Huddersfield Giants to look forward to. We urge all Knights fans to support the scholarship scheme.”

Meanwhile, Supporters’ Club coaches to the Knights’ 2010 opener at Rochdale on Sunday will leave Clarence Street at 12.15pm and Huntington Stadium at 12.30pm.

The price is £6 for travel club members, or £14 for adults and £7 for under-16s.

To book, phone 07958 569266, or bookings can be made tomorrow night in Bar 13.

Travel club membership is limited to 49 members at a cost of £50 per season. Members enjoy substantial discounts on travel to all away games and weekends away.
