STAR forward Adam Robinson, who went off injured in the opening exchanges of York City Knights' victory over Doncaster on Good Friday, will be back in action sooner than expected.

X-rays have shown the prop suffered hairline fractures to three ribs but there were no clean breaks as feared.

He will miss Sunday's Challenge Cup clash with bogey team Barrow, but, with a blank weekend after that, he hopes to return for the next League One match away to Gloucestershire All Golds on May 7.

The 30-year-old told the club's website: “I’m excited to get back out there and obviously I’m relieved that it’s not more serious.

"I’m in some pain but I’ll do what's needed to focus on getting back for the next league game.”
