SAD to hear of the death of rugby league legend Mick Sullivan, having seen him play many times at Odsal in my youth.
Although not big by today’s standards, he was a fiery character who relished the toughness of our sport.
After his retirement, he revealed that only when playing against the Aussies, he would play with extra padding on one arm so that he could give our Antipodean friends an extra welcome when he tackled them.
With another legend Billy Boston on the other wing, who would want to be an opposition winger in those days?
