JAMES FORD has again warned against complacency after his York City Knights side were handed a tie against the only remaining amateur club in the fifth round of the Ladbrokes Challenge Cup.

The Knights are to visit National Conference League premier division outfit Leigh Miners Rangers next month knowing victory could bring a plum tie against Super League's leading teams, who enter the competition in round six.

It is a third favourable Challenge Cup draw on the trot, with York having been paired with South Wales - the lowest ranked professional club last year - in round three and amateurs Featherstone Lions, of NCL division two, in round four.

It is also another away draw, but, given the club's current homelessness, that is not a bad thing.

Ford reckoned it would be far from easy, though, especially after their opponents comfortably knocked out York's League One rivals, Oxford, 32-6 at the weekend. They have won their one league game so far this term, too.

"I watched the Oxford game on the internet and I was really impressed with some of the stuff they were doing," said the Knights boss.

"They didn't just beat Oxford but they beat them convincingly. They played a quality brand of rugby league and they were physical as well.

"They're a top amateur team and they will fancy their chances in front of their own people over in Leigh.

"At the same time, it's a chance for us to win and progress but it certainly won't be an easy game."

Leigh MR, who count Tommy Martyn and Denis Betts among their long list of products to turn professional, were ordered to take their tie against Oxford away from their Twist Lane home as it does not meet pro standards - switching it to Championship neighbours Leigh Centurions' home ground.

The Centurions, though, also have a home draw, against Super League side Salford in arguably the tie of the round.

Both games could well be played at the same venue on different days over the fifth-round weekend of April 17-19,

although there were immediate calls for a double-header.

Ford reckoned that would be "fantastic" if it could be arranged.

"It would be up to those clubs and the Leigh Miners committee to see what they want to do," he added.

In another mouthwatering fifth round tie, relegated Bradford will be hoping to topple Super League side Hull KR.

The other two top-tier teams entering at this stage, Wakefield and Hull, also face tricky tasks against Halifax and Sheffield respectively.

The remaining Super League sides - the top eight from 2014 - enter in round six.

Ladbrokes Challenge Cup, round 5 draw: Hunslet v Dewsbury, Leigh Miners Rangers ARLC v York City Knights, Bradford v Hull KR, Sheffield v Hull FC, Batley v Swinton, North Wales Crusaders v Featherstone Rovers, Wakefield Trinity Wildcats v Halifax, Leigh Centurions v Salford. Ties to be played over the weekend of April 17-19.
