RACING cyclists Andrew Morgan and Mark Tunnell had to settle for a share of the London Cyclo Cross Youth League title, writes John Thynne.

Andrew Morgan, of Tubbenden Lane, Orpington, and Mark Tunnell, from Croydon, both represented Catford Cycling Club in the mountain bike event held between October and January.

The 16-year-olds both finished on 94 points after eight events, recording three wins, two second places and six third place finishes between them.

Mark has now left to join the Pearson Cycles team but Andrew is preparing for the road race season with Catford. "I was very pleased to have won the title along with Mark, and wish him the best of luck for next season with his team," said Andrew.

Catford's senior cyclists have also been on top form - Jenny Hill took second spot in the league and the men's squad finished a creditable third.
