AMATEUR theatres and schools are to benefit from a new charity set-up with a view to boost art and protect the environment.

Creative Supplies, based in Grove Street, Deptford, is offering to provide schools, community groups, artists and inventors with free waste materials to be reused in theatre productions or art exhibitions.

Materials range from paper, fabric, paint and wood, to more unusual `creative materials', exclusive to the world of arts.

Creative Supplies co-ordinator Paul Ridley hopes it will help reduce waste and create community development. The scheme is the first of its kind to focus on helping art projects and shares premises with the London Re-use Warehouse which offers building materials, computers and old machinery. For details of the scheme call Mr Ridley on 0171 701 5707 or 0181 691 6006.
