  • "Just got back after spending over £350 on the day - get the useless manager out and get someone in who has a clue - also, get rid of half the squad. After witnessing the trouble that everyone went to, especially the Yorvik Reds, who I have previously criticised, I do not think that they deserve any respect.

Also fully agree with cambsycfc that the tactics were appauling and there was no urgency going forward. While Foyle is in charge I will not be renewing my season ticket or going to any more games."

City fans' initial reaction to defeat

Dejected York City fans are making their way back north after seeing their team lose 2-0 in the FA Trophy final at Wembley.

The Minstermen went down to two second half goals by pre-match favourites Stevenage Borough.

As fans left the ground many said they were disappointed but proud nonetheless.

Among them was Neil Haw, 42, of Huntington, York. He said: "It's a shame the second half ended up so disappointingly. The first half was a credit to York. I'm glad York got here anyway."

Another fan, George Payne, 14, of Holgate, York said: "City gave it their heart and they definitely did well to get this far given their league performance. Wembley is magnificent."
