LEADING York City onto the Wembley turf for today’s FA Trophy final against Stevenage will be a proud moment for manager Martin Foyle.
The City boss admitted he wishes he was putting on his boots for today’s non-league showpiece – and he is hoping his side can do the estimated 15,000 fans travelling to the home of English football proud.
Foyle said: “I will be very proud today. A lot of good managers never get the chance to take their team out at Wembley and it is great that I will be able to.
“I am really looking forward to it. I am not nervous, more excited, but I just wish I was playing. Once you get into management, you can make substitutions and tactical changes but it is the players who have got to get on with it.”
Foyle added: “It will be fantastic to see 15,000 York fans at Wembley Stadium especially since we usually play in front of around 2,000,” Foyle added.
“There is a lot riding on today and it is an exciting time.”
