A ROADWORKER has died after a forklift truck fell on him, crushing him to death.
Paul Edwards, 30, from Abbey Wood, was trapped under the machine last Friday at the junction of Green Street Green and Gore Road in Dartford, where he had been working on repairs to the road. Fire crews found him trapped at 3.20pm and ambulance staff tried to resuscitate him. But he was pronounced dead on arrival at 3.45pm at Joyce Green Hospital, Dartford.
Both the inquest and a post mortem are to be carried out later this week and an investigation will be launched by the Health and Safety Executive. Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident. Call them on 01322 280055.
