YORK City today released striker Paul Brayson who is now free to join another club.
The former Newcastle United, Reading and Cardiff City striker's contract was terminated by mutual consent after he dropped down the pecking order during the club's current storming 13-match unbeaten run.
Said City boss Colin Walker: "He wants to play first-team football. He does not want to be sat on the bench or playing in the reserves, so hopefully he can get a new club."
Also released from KitKat Crescent was 19-year-old midfielder Chas Wrigley, who has yet to make a senior appearance.
