Erik Tonne joins York City on loan

ERIK TONNE has joined York City on loan until the end of the season.

The 20-year-old Norwegian, who recently signed a contract extension at Bramall Lane until the end of 2014, has been farmed out to Bootham Crescent in a bid to gain match experience.

Tonne has played four times, all from the bench, for the Blades this season - scoring twice, including in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy at Burton Albion earlier in the season.

The left-sided midfielder-cum-striker, has been a regular in United's second string.

Sounds alright to me if they want him to 2014 and he's scored twice in four at a much higher level than we are at. On paper should be a class above Boucaud and an interesting signing.

Erik the Viking!! welcome to Yorvik!!

Good move by Mills, ship out the wrong attitude in Boucaud and bring in a young hungry player who will motivate the other youngsters to emulate his current standing...

I wish this young lad well, although I have personally never seen him play before. Andre Boucaud wanted to leave and Gary Mills (judging by the times he subbed him) was obviously willing to let him go. At Darlington on Saturday it was obvious that Gary Mills patience was running thin, for as soon as Boucaud gave the ball away (which lead to Darlos second goal) he was taken off.

My class are reading Erik the Viking by Terry Jones as our class text. Has to be an omen - doesn't it?

....but a nice suprise ! Hello and welcome
So that's a left midfielder in swallow and a left mid **** striker in Erik not looking good for Ash - maybe the kick up the bum every player needs every now and again
By by boucs when you were good you were very good, shame we never saw it every week
With Jason coming back it's going to be like having 3 new players come Grimsby

Scandinavian footballers usually play with lots of passion and enthusiasm and seem to like a battle/physical challenge! Nobody was more enigmatic and passionate than Ole Gunnar Solksjaer, who was spotted playing in a minor league in Norway and the rest as they say is history! So, hope Eric will bring the drive and confidence back to our side that has been lacking in recent games over a full 90 minutes and cost us a lot of points and in doing so, make a name for himself!

RooBeck is right, scandinavian players generally don't give a hoot about throwing themselves in where it hurts, and their work-rate is generally very high.
i also know a sheff utd fan who says they are really excited about this guy at bramall lane.
will be interesting to see the line-up now for saturday.
