YORK City manager Gary Mills has revealed he is ready to make a “big decision” regarding midfielder Andre Boucaud’s future at the club.

Blue Square Bet Premier title contenders Fleetwood have made a bid for the talented Trinidad & Tobago international’s services that Mills has admitted is under consideration.

Boucaud watched from the stands as City won 2-0 at Lincoln on Saturday with Mills explaining that the former Kettering play-maker had been feeling “under the weather”.

But the coming days look likely to determine whether Boucaud has played his last match for the Minstermen.

City boss Mills said: “It’s the transfer window and there will be some movement because it’s all about us getting where I want us to be and me making the right decisions.

“I get paid for that and I won’t relax because we won three points on Saturday as it’s important we kick on.

“There has been an offer from Fleetwood for Andre and, when you have an offer, you have to look at it and make decisions. Anybody who supports York will have seen what he’s done for us this season. He’s been a big part of what we’ve achieved.

“But, as a manager, along with Darron (Gee) my assistant, I have to make big decisions. We saw a good performance against Lincoln from Scott Brown, who got in some good positions and was unlucky not to score. He’s played a lot of league games and knows what it’s all about.

“Ultimately, I will do what I think is right for my, your and our football club and will live and die by my decisions. My title is manager and I want people to let me do that. I won’t listen to or be swayed by others and I’ll succeed or fail on that basis.”

Mills will also attempt to resurrect a deal for Bristol Rovers winger Ben Swallow this week, having failed to reach an agreement with the Pirates prior to the Lincoln game.

“I’m still trying to bring in Ben Swallow because, like Danny Pilkington, he’s another who can use his left foot to provide great deliveries.”
