Turnbull released

MIDFIELDER Phil Turnbull has been released by York City.

The 21-year-old former Hartlepool reserve started just one first-team game for City - in the Setanta Shield against Northwich - after dislocating his shoulder in pre-season.

He has spent the last month on loan at Gateshead and has now been offered a permanent contract by the UniBond League club.
