YORK CITY manager Russ Wilcox is hopeful Stephane Zubar and Michael Coulson may be fit in time for Saturday’s SkyBet League Two trip to Mansfield Town.
The pair both missed the 2-2 draw with Accrington at the weekend - centre-back Zubar still recovering from a thigh injury suffered in the home defeat to Bury and midfielder Coulson missing with a hip problem.
Wilcox said the duo were being “assessed daily” but is keeping his fingers crossed that both can help bolster his squad as the Minstermen visit the Stags.
Striker Emile Sinclair, forced off after 14 minutes of the Accrington game, is set to have a scan on his injured thigh today.
“Stephane has not trained. There is still soreness in there and Coulson has not trained either,” Wilcox said. “We will assess them daily and we are hoping they will be okay for the weekend.
“Emile will have a scan today and we will see what that brings.”
Wilcox added that he was still working feverishly in a bid to add to his squad before tomorrow’s loan deadline but admitted it was proving difficult to get the quality player he wanted.
He explained: “We are hoping to get someone in before Thursday but it is always difficult to add at the top end of the pitch.
“Everyone wants to keep strikers in house but we are working away.
We are all going out to games and making phone calls.”
Asked whether those difficulties were proving a frustration, Wilcox said: “You expect it at this time of year.”
The match at the Field Mill is all-ticket with no sales to away supporters on the day. City have been given an allocation of 744 tickets and the deadline to buy at the ticket office is 3pm on Friday
