YORK City trio Keith Lowe, Russell Penn and Luke Summerfield deserve a “nice welcome” on their return to Cheltenham today.

So declared Robins manager Mark Yates as they prepared to host the Minstermen at Whaddon Road in Sky Bet League Two.

“I hope the three of them all get a nice welcome,” said Yates. “They were all terrific servants to the football club. I brought all three to the club and they did well.

“Luke only had a season here and it ended a bit disappointingly but he was a catalyst in that side alongside Russ and Marlon Pack in the middle of the park.

“Russ went on to captain the club and he was great for me at both Kidderminster and here. He played with his heart and energy and the fans always love that.

“And Keith was a great servant too. He probably didn’t get the chances that he deserved and that may have been wrong on our part, but sometimes that can happen.”
