TOP-OF-THE-TABLE Burton Albion will be targeting a seventh successive home win when York City visit the Pirelli Stadium tomorrow.

The Brewers, who were given a boost this week when manager Gary Rowett turned down a move to Blackpool, have won all five matches in front of their own supporters this season, including Capital One Cup triumphs over Championship club Wigan (2-1) and cash-happy Premier League outfit QPR 1-0.

League visitors Portsmouth (2-0), Exeter (1-0) and Dagenham & Redbridge (2-1) have also been seen off in Staffordshire after Albion also won their final home match of last term – a 1-0 play-off, semi-final triumph over Southend.

Shrewsbury are the only other SkyBet League Two side still to boast a 100 per cent record on their own turf and Burton have won nine of their last ten Pirelli clashes – a run stretching back to mid-March with the one blemish a 2-0 defeat to last season’s eventual champions Chesterfield.

During the new campaign, Rowett’s team have won seven of their eight fixtures with a 1-1 draw at Newport the only match they have not tasted victory in.

Goals have been spread evenly throughout the team with Lucas Akins, Stuart Beavon, Adam McGurk and the departed Billy Kee, who joined Scunthorpe last month, having all netted twice.

At the other end of the pitch, Burton are hoping centre-back Shane Cansdell-Sherriff has recovered from the rib injury that caused him to be substituted during the latter stages of last weekend’s victory against Portsmouth.

If he is unavailable, then former on-loan Minsterman George Taft could switch from left back to the heart of the hosts’ defence and Callum McFadzean would come in at full back.

Taft has started seven of his new club’s games this term, having signed on a free transfer from Leicester in the summer.

Another former on-loan City player - midfielder Robbie Weir - has featured in every game, but injured trio Jimmy Phillips (cruciate), Damien McCrory (cartilage) and Lee Bell (medial ligament) all remain unavailable.

Burton (probable): McLaughlin, Edwards, Sharps, Cansdell-Sherriff, Taft, Akins, Mousinho, Weir, MacDonald, McGurk, Beavon.
