FORMER York City striker Chris Beardsley will not line up against his old club tomorrow.

Beardsley, 30, is yet to feature for Stevenage this season following his summer move from Preston North End due to a knee injury.

He made his return to training this week but he is not fit enough to be considered for the Broadhall Way clash.

Beardsley will be joined on the sidelines by midfielder Darren Parrett, who is on the comeback from cruciate ligament damage - the same injury that has already ended the season of defender Harry Worley, a close-season signing from Newport County.

Former French under-21 international defender Bira Dembele also remains a fitness doubt having missed the last two matches.

But Stevenage are expected to welcome back former Colchester midfielder Andy Bond and goalkeeper Sam Beasant after the pair were rested during Tuesday’s 1-0 Johnstone’s Paint Trophy home defeat to Gillingham.

Beasant is the son of ex-England and Chelsea keeper Dave and is set to replace Chris Day between the sticks.

Borough boss Graham Westley only made three changes in the cup tie from the side that lost 3-2 in their previous league game at AFC Wimbledon but Roarie Deacon and Connor Calcutt could both return to the bench with Tom Pett pushing for a recall and ex-Burton striker Calvin Zola a possible starter after recovering from early-season injury problems.

The Hertfordshire outfit, currently sitting 15th in the SkyBet League Two table, have lost their last three home matches with a 3-1 reverse against Wycombe and a 1-0 loss to Capital One Cup visitors Watford preceding the Gills defeat.

Westley’s men have also failed to keep a clean sheet in six outings and no player has netted more than once so far this campaign.

Stevenage (probable): Beasant, Henry, Okimo, Charles, Wells, Walton, Bond, Lee, Whelpdale, Zola, Lancaster.
