SNOW and ice has caused more than 30 schools in the Stroud District to close, although the majority remain open today.
Much of the county has been unaffected but heavy snow fell in the Forest of Dean in the early hours of Tuesday.
Gloucestershire Highways warned drivers of the risk of ice on untreated rural roads.
Schools forced to close their doors to pupils include Forest View Primary School, Littledean C of E Primary School, St John's C of E Primary School, Coleford and Berry Hill Primary School.
Other schools are open but have special notices in place due to the trecherous weather conditions.
Chalford Hill Primary School said they would be opening today from 10am.
A full list of school closures in Stroud District can be seen on the Gloucestershire County Council website.
