YORK City beat the weather but they were unable to find a way past npower League Two visitors Aldershot Town in a 0-0 stalemate.
The game went ahead after a morning pitch inspection thanks to the efforts of groundstaff and supporters clearing snow from the covers that protected the Bootham Crescent surface in sub-zero temperatures.
The match itself was not the greatest spectacle as both sides struggled to carve out chances, with the Minstermen seeing an optimistic penalty shout waved away in the first half when Matty Blair tumbled in the box.
After the break, the Shots' best chance narrowly cleared Michael Ingham's crossbar from 18 yards.
New signing Ben Everson made his debut as a second half substitute, replacing Jamie Reed in the 71st minute, but he was unable to make an immediate impression.
The draw leaves City in 15th place in the npower League Two table.
The Bootham Crescent clash was one of only three fixtures in the division to survive the cold snap, with Northampton beating Burton Albion 1-0 and Wycombe earning a 1-0 home win over Dagenham & Redbridge.
