LEE Bullock has been recalled to York City from his loan spell at Gateshead due to dwindling squad numbers.

The 31-year-old midfielder will be named as a substitute during this afternoon’s home match with Bristol Rovers with Jon Challinor having joined sidelined quartet Lanre Oyebanjo, Oli Johnson, John McReady and Michael Coulson in the treatment room.

Departed pair Clarke Carlisle and Danny Kearns, meanwhile, have never been replaced while Liam Henderson and Tom Platt remain out on loan at Gateshead and Harrogate Town respectively and David McGurk has still not featured in a senior game since January 1.

On the return of Bullock, Mills said: “He’s been away and played games like Jonathan Smith and, with Lanre and Jon Challinor being out, we decided to bring him back.

“He’s here to work his way back into the team and, hopefully, he’s hungry to do that.”
