YORK City entertain Torquay on Saturday with the challenge to improve on a home record of just two wins from their last 11 Bootham Crescent encounters.

In contrast, the Minstermen have lost just once in 13 League games on the road but swash-buckling defender Lanre Oyebanjo insists the team have not developed a phobia about performing in front of their own supporters.

He said: “I don’t feel there is any real difference between home and away games.

“I love playing at home because of how the crowd get behind us.

“It’s just not happened for us results-wise this season at home but I think that will come.

“The crowd give us that backing when we attack that end (the David Longhurst Stand) and you can feel the difference.

“I think it affects the away team. We put in a bad performance against Wimbledon at home but, other than that, we haven’t played too badly.

“We’ve been knocking on the door but the goals just haven’t been going in.

“If we are consistently putting in the performances, the results will come though.”
