Win the chance to walk out with the Minstermen at FA Trophy final in The Press’ fantastic competition.
THE Press is promoting a competition for York City to give five young supporters the opportunity of a lifetime.
The lucky winners of the competition will accompany City’s players on to the Wembley pitch as mascots when the team take on Newport County in the final of the FA Trophy on Saturday, May 12.
Wembley fever has gripped the city this week with tickets going on sale at Bootham Crescent for next month’s big game.
For the chance to participate in an historic day for the club, children will need to fulfil the following criteria:
• be aged between seven and 11 years
• be a Junior Red or York City season-ticket holder and
• have a 2011/2012 season York City home kit, as well as trainers or football boots
All children who enter the competition must also complete the application form printed in The Press newspaper today, stating in 100 words why they should be a York City Wembley mascot.
Winners will then join relatives of City boss Gary Mills, his assistant Darron Gee and vice-captain Scott Kerr as the team’s mascots under the famous arch.
The deadline for entering the competition is Monday, April 23 and applications should be sent to Wembley Mascot competition, Paula Stainton, Community Manager, York City Football Club, Bootham Crescent, York, YO30 7AQ or emailed to paula.ycfc@live.co.uk
The entries will be judged by York City, with the best five declared the winners.
