JOHN McCombe has moved to within six points of The Press Player of the Year leader Keith Lowe.

With a possible four fixtures left to play and Josh Carson and Wes Fletcher both crocked, only Lanre Oyebanjo now has an outside chance of pipping the two centre backs to the prize.

McCombe collected his latest point towards the standings as our third-highest rated player during last weekend's 1-0 home win over Newport.

Our man-of-the-match Michael Coulson (three points) and second-highest rated performer Calvin Andrew were also recognised for their efforts.

Coulson, pictured, picked up the two Player of the Month bonus points on offer to the player who received the most man-of-the-match votes from visitors to our website and followers of the @daveflettpress Twitter account.

He finished second in that contest to McCombe.

Please send us your man-of-the-match choice from this afternoon's trip to Scunthorpe here or by tweeting @daveflettpress.
