DAN Parslow has won the final Press Player of the Month award for 2012 ahead of today’s final fixture of the year.

The former Wales under-21 international has an unassailable seven-point lead at the top of the standings prior to this today’s match at Fleetwood after a man-of-the-match display during the Boxing Day 3-0 defeat at Chesterfield.

He also polled the most man-of-the-match votes from visitors to our website to collect the two bonus points on offer towards the contest.

Two-time The Press Player of the Year winner Parslow has now drawn level at the top of this season’s competition with joint-leader Chris Smith, who is struggling to rediscover his early-season form.

The other Player of the Year and Month points at Chesterfield went to Jamal Fyfield (two) and Michael Ingham as our second and third-highest rated performers.

To be in with a chance of presenting December’s The Press Player of the Month Parslow with his prize – a framed photograph – before a City match at Bootham Crescent, send us your man-of-the-match votes for this afternoon’s clash with Fleetwood.

Alternatively, you can tweet your choice to @daveflettpress

Meanwhile, Chris Smith need only avoid being cautioned at Fleetwood to pass the December 31 cut-off point for one-match suspensions, incurred for being shown five yellow cards before the turn of the year.
