The Blue Square Premier fixture against Oxford United originally scheduled for this Saturday, will now be rearranged.

Ebbsfleet United’s plea to have their Blue Square Premier clash at home to City put back 24 hours to Sunday, March 8 is now being considered by the league’s fixtures sub-committee.

City originally refused the Fleet’s request to move the game at Stonebridge Lane from its scheduled Saturday date to the day after on the grounds that Minstermen fans had already made travel arrangements.

Even before City’s rejection, Ebbsfleet had flagged news on their own club website that the game had been switched.

Ebbsfleet, who are seeking the move to aid their Setanta Shield campaign, referred the request to the Blue Square Premier’s governing body for a final decision.

Meanwhile, City reserves yielded two goals in the last three minutes to lose 2-1 at Grimsby in the totesport.com league.

City’s scorer was trialist Jerome Wright. Two other trialists figured for City – defender Shaun Pejic, formerly of Wrexham, and Scunthorpe striker Peter Winn.

The reserves trip to Rotherham has been put back to avoid a clash with the rearranged Blue Square Premier game with Forest Green on Tuesday, April 21.

The reserves will travel to the Don Valley Stadium on Wednesday, April 22 (2pm).
