The Golf Day’s organising committee have secured a major sponsorship deal for the event, meanwhile, from Elcocks Ltd of York, which forms part of their continual support for the football club.

Elcocks were established in 1971 to help service professional trades’ people in Yorkshire, who needed a greater level of choice for their power tools and equipment.

The family business has depots in Goole and Driffield and their head office is in York.

On the partnership with the football club, Andrew Elcock said: “As a company we have supported York City with ground advertising and participated at the last three golf days. However, last year we were offered the chance to be the main sponsors.

“We worked closely with the committee and Forest Park Golf Club to guarantee a successful and enjoyable day for all those participating at the event and it was an honour to be associated with York City, so we are delighted to continue as sponsors for this year’s event.”
