YORK City manager Gary Mills is still drawing up his 'battle plan' for life in National League North, with supporters anxiously awaiting news on which players are staying or moving on.

Mills signed a new one-year deal before the FA Trophy final, along with leading goalscorer Jon Parkin and fullback Sam Muggleton, but uncertainty still surrounds the majority of last season's squad.

Striker Vadaine Oliver and defender Alex Whittle have both been transfer-listed at their own request, while teenagers Tyler Walton and Alex Bruton have been released.

Out-of-contract players who have been offered terms were given a two-week deadline to make decisions on their futures which is due to expire this week.

City, meanwhile, have sold 350 season tickets since the club's relegation from the National League.

Supporters have until the end of the month to take advantage of special discounted prices. Adult tickets in the David Longhurst Stand are currently on sale for £199 but are set to rise by £36 on July 1.

A club spokesman described the current uptake of season tickets as "encouraging".

The Minstermen sold 1250 season tickets last season after dropping out of the Football League.

Although they subsequently suffered a second consecutive relegation, the club sold over 7,500 tickets for the FA Trophy final against Macclesfield Town at Wembley on May 21 – over three times the average home gate at Bootham Crescent last season.
