FORMER York City goalkeeper Scott Flinders has been released by FA Trophy final opponents Macclesfield Town.

Flinders, 30, made 23 appearances for the Silkmen after leaving Bootham Crescent, initially on loan, in September.

He made his final appearance for the club against the Minstermen at Wembley.

Former York defender John McCombe has been offered a new deal by Macclesfield while a third former City player, Luke Summerfield, has returned to parent club Grimsby Town after completing a three month loan deal at Moss Rose.

Bradford Park Avenue have signed former York striker Adam Boyes from National League neighbours Guiseley.

Boyes, now 26, started his career at Bootham Crescent and was sold to Scunthorpe United for a six figure fee in summer 2009.

He returned for a brief loan spell owith the Minstermen at the start of the 2009-10 season and has subsequently played for a string of non-league clubs including Boston United, Barrow, and Gateshead.

Former York leftback James Meredith has quit Bradford City to join Millwall - just two weeks after the two clubs met in the League One play-off final.

Australian international Meredith made over 200 appearances for the Bantams after leaving City five seasons ago.

Notts County have signed former City loanee Lewis Alessandra from Hartlepool United.
