YORK City boss Gary Mills will not be looking to keep up to date with the scores of his team’s relegation rivals again at Woking.

With home chief Garry Hill admitting he constantly has an eye on what’s happening elsewhere as his side also look to beat the drop, Mills might need to put his fingers in his ears if he wants to avoid the fortunes of the other clubs, but he is insistent that everybody’s focus must be on completing the job in hand without outside assistance.

He went on to add that only on the campaign’s final day, when the Minstermen entertain Forest Green, is he likely to seek news of other relevant fixtures.

“I don’t think this game is the time for checking the results of other teams, although it might be against Forest Green,” Mills reasoned. “You normally find out whether you want to or not but, whatever happens, it will be going to the last game anyway, even if three points might prove enough come the end of the season.”

Braintree, who are one place below Mills’ fifth-bottom team on goal difference, are at home tomorrow to a Barrow side still chasing points to make the play-offs.

Another top-five hopeful Dover, meanwhile, will play host to a Torquay team, who are a further place and point adrift of the Minstermen.

Looking up the standings, Guiseley go to tenth-placed Bromley one point ahead of City, but with an inferior goal difference, whilst a defeat for Solihull at home to Eastleigh would also lift Mills’ team above the Midlanders if they secure maximum points at Woking.
