LINCOLN are expected to welcome back Lee Angol and Josh Ginnelly for tonight’s FA Trophy semi-final, first-leg clash at York City.

The on-loan pair were ruled out of Saturday night’s 5-0 FA Cup defeat at Premier League giants Arsenal, having played for Peterborough and Walsall respectively in earlier rounds of the competition.

Angol looks a certain starter as Imps boss Danny Cowley seeks to re-energise his troops following the exertions of the weekend with the 22-year-old striker having become the first Lincoln player to hit a hat-trick on his debut since Billy Cobb in 1966 during last Tuesday’s 4-0 victory at Braintree.

Winger Ginnelly, meanwhile, was the tormentor-in-chief as Lincoln staged a second-half comeback in last month’s 1-1 league meeting against the Minstermen at Sincil Bank and is set to earn a recall.

Angol has been recruited to give Cowley’s men extra firepower with joint-top, 13-goal scorers Matt Rhead and Nathan Arnold enduring barren spells.

Target-man Rhead has only scored in one of his last 20 matches - bagging a brace during the 3-2 victory over Woking last month.

He is also without an away goal since October, whilst Arnold has only netted once in 11 outings.

Former on-loan Minsterman Elliott Whitehouse could earn a recall too, having failed to make the squad against Arsenal.

The ex-Sheffield United midfielder has scored four times in 19 appearances for the Imps this term.

With the only injury casualty Lee Beevers, who has been sidelined since October by a dislocated knee, Cowley has plenty of options to ring the changes and on-loan, Aston Villa left-back Ricardo Calder could make his debut after featuring on the bench at the Emirates.

But goalkeeper Ross Etheridge, recruited from Doncaster, is expected to remain first-choice Paul Farman’s understudy.

Almost nine hours had passed since Lincoln had conceded in an away game before England ace Theo Walcott opened the scoring at the Emirates over the weekend on the stroke of half-time.

The loss was also Lincoln’s first on the road in eight matches since a 3-0 loss at Barrow in January.

In the league, Lincoln are five points clear at the top with two games in hand on nearest rivals Dagenham & Redbridge.

The club have never played at Wembley, missing out on their best chance in 2007 when they were beaten League Two semi-finalists for a fifth consecutive campaign.
