YORK City midfielder Luke Woodland has left the club by mutual consent.

The Abu Dhabi-born 21-year-old made two National League appearances and three in all for the Minstermen after arriving from Oldham Athletic in November.

He had been given a contract extension to run until the end of the season but has not featured since entering as a substitute in the 2-2 draw at Dover on January 7.

A statement from the club said: "York City would to thank Luke for his efforts and wish him well for the future."
