YORK City boss Gary Mills has insisted there will be no room for complacency as his team take on part-timers Nuneaton in the last 16 of the FA Trophy.

The Warwickshire outfit have already disposed of City’s National League neighbours Guiseley 6-1 in this season’s competition and Mills has made it clear his players must maintain the standards that have seen them lose just one of their last eight contests.

After quipping he could do with a new suit, Mills reiterated: “I want to get to Wembley and the players know that and the jobs they need to do.

“Nuneaton were doing well before losing their last two games 4-0, which shows you can’t really study the opposition too much, because you’d come away with very different opinions depending on when you watched them.

“As ever it’s more about ourselves and, if you go somewhere like Nuneaton and you’re not switched on, then the sort of thing that happened to Guiseley can happen.

“If we’re not focussed or get complacent, we’ll get turned over – it’s as simple as that.

“But we’re in a good place and I promise the fans that the players will be giving absolutely everything and, with the quality we have got, hopefully that will be enough to beat Nuneaton.

“It’s a weird one, because of where we are sitting in the league, but I’ve been in numerous dressing rooms and, with the confidence in this one at the moment, you’d think we were top. I keep making these silly statements, but that’s how it feels and I want the fans to have the same confidence.”
